Pursuit of Excellence. An Exhibition of Rising Talent
As renowned artist, Alberto Giacometti said, "The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity."
In this spirit, LuminArte Gallery is featuring the works of three outstanding rising artists whose works pursue excellence and reflect the sentiments expressed several decades earlier by Alberto Giacometti

(Dallas, Texas) - An exhibition featuring original art work from Nicole Kallenberg of Austin, Texas, Delphi of Dallas, Texas and Patrick Soulieres of Quebec, Canada.
Nicole Kallenberg (Austin). Nicole's works are targeted to provoke emotions from the viewer. Her technique and style serve her well in this ambition. Inspired by Caravaggio and Impressionists such as Monet and Renoir, she makes use of oil, wax and her brush to convey a dramatic application of the materials, further enhancing the energy of her works. Nicole implements tenebrism, a technique created by Caravaggio, which is a dramatic shift from dark to light, to create a dark emotional backdrop with the spotlight on her characters.

"Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" by Nicole Kallenberg
Delphi (Dallas ) Delphi's works primarily deal with sacred geometry, symbolism and the esoteric in mythology and history. She composes each piece as a meditation, usually centered around a principle theme or teaching, to attempt to convey to the viewer a sense of the mystical. Art allows us to be ourselves and it is Delphi's desire to spark a sense of familiar that pulls the viewer into a higher awareness. To reach into our symbolic past, to decode the mythology and learn the complexities of history, this is a code written within each of us, and a yearning that has pulled Delphi forward her entire life.

"World Harmonics" by Delphi
Patrick Soulieres (Quebec) Patrick's composes his paintings with symbols. Each one is intended to represent through a simple image, a phenomenon or a state of things invisible by nature: knowledge transmission, concept formation, time consciousness and emotional vulnerability. Each painting presents one or many characters in action or simply posing. These characters are shown naked so that each scene sets on a temporal background and has the highest symbolic charge. The use of methods like corporal distortion and anatomical substitution links Patrick's art to Surrealism. Nonetheless, Patrick's association of symbolic elements is everything but free and, moreover, the phenomena or state of things pictured have more to do with the conscious than the unconscious.

"Self Analysis" by Patrick Soulieres

Daggi had a vision to combine her artistic talent with her altruistic concern for the well being of children. Out of this vision grew "Moni's Kids", a non-profit organization benefiting children who have overcome immense adversity in their daily lives. Proceeds from this exhibition are earmarked for establishing a library for the Haitian children in the portraits. In addition to purchasing portraits, patrons may make charitable cash and PayPal contributions directly to Moni's Kids.
Up Close & Personal Exhibition
Daggi's "Up Close & Personal" is a new series of extremely up close portraits. Rather than paint the entire face, Daggi's pastel paintings hone in on specific parts that are characteristic of the person. Roberta Carasso of ArtScene Magazine said "Wallace creates in lucious painted pastels, forming sensuously realistic individual portraits." |
